The painting follows Christ on the road to Calvary, carrying the cross through a crowded and detailed landscape. Around Him are soldiers, townspeople and those who followed Him, while the city of Jerusalem rises in the distance. The original painting is today part of the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
