Christ the Almighty Icon

Handmade in the Holy Land, this Byzantine icon of Christ Pantocrator reveals the calm strength and divine presence of the Savior. Christ is shown with one hand raised in blessing and the other holding the open Gospel, a symbol of truth, mercy, and eternal wisdom. His expression is serene and steady, filled with both compassion and authority. Around His head is a radiant halo inscribed with the Greek letters Ο Ω Ν, meaning “He Who Is,” a sacred declaration of God’s eternal being. To either side of His face are the letters IC XC, the Greek abbreviation for “Jesus Christ.” Together, they affirm His divinity and everlasting presence. The background of gold reflects the light of heaven, while the deep colors of His garments express His divine and human nature.
