The Kinneret Cross Necklace is carved from olive wood of the Holy Land and adorned with painted fish. Each fish recalls the Ichthys, the sign used by early Christians in times of persecution, standing for “Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior.” It is also the sign of His miracles and the call to become fishers of men. The name Kinneret is the ancient Hebrew and Aramaic name for the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus called His first disciples and where much of His ministry unfolded. Handcrafted in Nazareth, the olive wood, warm and smooth, is shaped with patience, its grain a witness to time. The fish patterns flow across the surface, a reminder of the first disciples by the Sea of Galilee and the community of believers joined in faith. Suspended on a soft, adjustable cotton cord, the cross rests close to the heart. It is a link to the teachings of Christ, to the waters of Galilee, and to the enduring craft of the Holy Land.
